Our History

A Legacy Chartered in Service

Rotary Bangalore Southwest is one of the prominent Rotary Clubs in Bangalore City. It was chartered on 14th December 1981, sponsored by Rotary Club of Bangalore South.

The Club meets every Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Meenakshi ENT Specialty Centre (MENTS), #2232, 23rd Cross Road, BSK 2nd Stage, Bengaluru – 560070. The members are from well-known business concerns and professionals mainly residing in the southern part of Bangalore.

The Club has several achievements to its credit across Community Service — including Polio Plus Camps, massive tree planting programmes, solar lamp distribution, dictionary distribution, career planning for youth and women, and much more.

Healthcare

Dialysis centres, pediatric chemotherapy support, NICU facilities, cancer awareness campaigns.

Education

Science laboratories, digital classrooms, interactive teaching aids, dictionary distribution.

Infrastructure

Solar lighting systems, water filtration plants, computer laboratories, comfort stations.

Social Welfare

Scholarships, free meals for caregivers, community health camps, Polio Plus drives.

Comfort stations & Cooking Gas Equipment at Swami Vivekananda School.

Set up of NICU at PD Hinduja Hospital in association with IWC Southwest, Rotary Club of Las Vegas, USA.

Water for Life Project providing water filters to Government schools and BSK 2nd Stage BBMP Hospital.

OFDD: Supporting Bangalore Kidney Foundation with One Free Dialysis per Day for needy patients.

Electronic Interactive Teaching Aids Facility at Brindavan Education Trust for children with slow learning capabilities.

E-Patashala facility enabled for rural children.

Pediatric Chemotherapy Centre at Rangadore Memorial Hospital — over 66 children treated successfully.

Children from economically weaker sections affected with curable cancer offered free treatment at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.

Distributed over 5,000 Dictionaries to high school students across Bangalore, Kolar & Pavagada.
